Jes Tsang

Jes Tsang

Student Support Specialist

Jes is an Educational Therapist who specializes in executive dysfunction, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, TBI, 2e, and other learning challenges. They spent the majority of their childhood between Hong Kong and Toronto — eventually becoming an avid traveler and with over 20 countries (and counting) to their name. As a teen, they attended both forest and arts school — learning how to portage canoes while preparing for performances. The teaching bug bit them in Grade 12, where they worked afternoons as a music teaching assistant at a local public school. As a music teacher, they discovered that neurodivergent learners were drawn to music classes, so they started learning about differentiation, accommodations, and disability law.

In 2023, Jes moved to LA to be with their spouse- a disabled veteran who did two combat deployments with the army. After a brief teaching stint in LA, they started their Master of Arts in Educational Therapy at Notre Dame de Namur University, and became a member with the Association of Educational Therapists. They are trained in academic intervention strategies rooted in Orton-Gillingham (structured literacy) and m•sense (formerly Making Math Real). Outside of teaching, they are a powerlifter, singer, writer, and traveler.

With over 10 years of experience as an educator, they have now joined the DWS Student Support team with an open heart and a staunch belief that Waldorf education is the future of education.
