Sydney Jones was born in Austin, Texas and raised between there and Stockton, California. Sydney has been a musician since the age of eight, when she fell in love with her sister’s birthday gift, a guitar. Her passion for music, visual art, language, and mythology continues to infuse her personal and professional life.
She earned her degree in Psychology from Sacramento State University, with a focus on Social Emotional Learning. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with children at many developmental stages in roles ranging from behavioral health support to floral design instruction. One of the highlights of her career was running a post-COVID after-school arts program that offered children a joyful and creative space to reconnect with one another and process the challenges of isolation.
Sydney discovered Waldorf education through an Anthroposophy training, where she was deeply moved by the heart-centered, developmentally aligned pedagogy. She has since committed herself to the path of Waldorf teaching and is thrilled to begin her journey in the classroom at Davis Waldorf School.
