Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play.

Electives
We offer an array of enriching electives for children in grades 3 – 8 in the fall, winter, and spring. These classes invite children to discover their hidden talents, stretch their imaginations, and expand beyond their comfort zones. Electives awaken the will, stir the heart, and nourish the intellect. Whether it’s acting, cooking, games, painting, robotics, or something else, electives make Davis Waldorf School special.
Sports
DWS students in grades 6-8 in good academic standing are eligible to participate in team sports. In Waldorf education, sports are not just games played on a field—they are living lessons in rhythm, will, and the art of being human together. Athletic pursuits bring balance and movement to the soul, offering students a chance to embody strength, grace, and perseverance. Children learn to strive without aggression, to cooperate without losing individuality, and to face challenges with humility and courage. Sports are a testament to the Waldorf commitment to educating the whole child—body, soul, and spirit—where victory is measured not in scores, but in the quiet confidence of a child who knows how to fall, rise, and try again.
