“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”Margaret J. Wheatley

At Davis Waldorf School, General Giving helps sustain the education our children experience each day and supports the continued growth of our school community.

Together, we raise funds to strengthen our campus, care for our existing spaces, and create meaningful opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive through Waldorf education.

When we give together, we show our shared commitment to the future of DWS — one rooted in creativity, care, reverence, and possibility.

Overview

To sustain and enrich a Waldorf education for our children, we must rely on more than just tuition. Your generous expression of shared commitment and support ensures that DWS will be able to continue to offer an outstanding and inspiring education to our students today and for many years to come.

We ask everyone to give or raise as much as they can. We have developed a roadmap to reach our goals.

If your budget allows or if you can commit to a fund-raising goal at any of the below thresholds, then please do.  We are very grateful to the angel donor who, once again, is offering a $10,000 matching gift when we reach 100%participation.

Number of
Donations
How Much Should I Give
6$10,000
10$2,500
40$1,000
15$750
50$500
90$250
90$50
60$25
25$10

This giving roadmap raises $190,000. Once we reach 100% participation, the $10,000 gift brings us to our $200,000 goal. We hope that every participant will be as generous as possible. In the past, donations have ranged from the pennies carried in by a student to more than $25,000. Gifts of all sizes are needed and welcome. Every dollar makes a difference and every student benefits.

No gift is too small. We ask that each family gives what works for their budget. Every gift gets us closer to our goal and helps us secure the $10,000 participation match.

Your donation:

  • Supports the development and growth of Davis Waldorf School for your children

No, it does not. Tuition and fees are set at a level that will support the school’s programs and yet remain affordable to a broad range of families.

An independent school differs financially from a public school by primarily relying on tuition fees, donations, and endowments for funding, while public schools are funded by government taxes, meaning parents of independent school students directly pay for their child’s education, unlike in public schools where the cost is distributed through taxes across the community.

Many employers will match the funds you donate to our school. Please check with your employer to see if you’re eligible.

The generosity of the DWS community helps the school continue to thrive. Each day, our faculty and staff provide an oasis for our children where they are educated and nurtured.

We need your participation!

The General Giving Campaign raises money for spaces that will help with:

NATURE-BASED EDUCATION
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
ARTS, MUSIC & ATHLETICS
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
STUDENT PROGRAMMING

The percentage of enrolled families participating is important: we receive a $10,000 grant if our school achieves 100% participation.

The Davis Waldorf School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and every gift to the school is 100% tax-deductible to the extent of IRS regulations.

Tours are closed for the summer and will resume in October 2025.
