Working at Davis Waldorf
Our school is located in Davis, California, just one and a half hours from Sierra skiing in Tahoe, one hour from the San Francisco Bay Area, and two hours from California’s famed wine region. Davis is a university town with a progressive, vigorous community noted for its small-town style, energy conservation, environmental programs, parks, tree preservation, red double-decker London buses, miles of bike path and greenbelts, and the quality of its educational institutions.
Davis’s mild, temperate winters and hot summers permit locals to enjoy the outdoors all year long. Davis’s parks provide picnic facilities, ball-fields, play structures, and swimming pools. Central Park, in the heart of downtown, includes a popular teen center and hosts the renowned Davis Farmer’s Market. Davis boasts more than 50 miles of bicycle paths and more bicycles per capita than any other city in the nation. Residents of Davis are active in local, national, and international political causes, sports, arts, and community organizations.
Our growing Pre-K through Grade Eight school recently turned 21 years old. Enrollment has increased yearly and we now have approximately 160 students. Our Faculty works on a consensus basis and has a solid commitment to anthroposophy. Davis Waldorf School provides families and faculty the opportunity to become part of a community that has heart and purpose.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition remission, and ongoing teacher development opportunities. Desired qualifications for all positions include Bachelors or Masters Degree, Waldorf School Teaching Certification, and prior teaching experience.
